Lee Andrew Fobbs

Mr. Lee Fobbs, is a 1968 graduate of Carroll High School and a 1973 graduate of Grambling State University.  He has given Carroll High School something to be proud of.  He gave as a student football player under the tutelage of Coach Dorth Blade. He also gave as Head Football Coach at Carroll where he was able to bring the program back to prominence.  During his tenure as the Head Coach of Carroll, he took a program that won only 1 game the year prior to his arrival and 3 years later turned them into contenders.

He helped many Monroe City boys on and off the field and did so through discipline, hard work, and determination.  Many of his players remember Coach Fobbs speaking of what it took to be a champion on the football field and how life mirrored the time on the gridiron.  He taught his players to have that “never say die spirit”, which many of them pattern their lives after.  He taught young men to persevere, even in times of despair! After leaving Carroll, Coach Fobbs spent the next 23 years in the college ranks helping young boys develop into young men.

Lee is married to Sheila Jackson Fobbs and is the father of three young adults.  Son, Broderick Fobbs, is an Assistant Coach at McNeese University and son, Jamaal Fobbs, is an Assistant Coach at Liberty University.  Daughter, Chelsea Fobbs, is a recent graduate of Howard University who now works on Broadway shows out of New York City.

Coaching was his career, but he has built a legacy of developing boys into good men, which is desperately needed in our communities. For that reason, Coach Lee Andrew Fobbs is an Outstanding Carroll Alumnus!
