Outstanding People – Outstanding Outcomes

Good people and good events hail from Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana. Although Carroll is located in a majority African American city and exists under conditions of high poverty in its immediate community, throughout its history Carroll High School has produced:

  • The first African American Quarterback to start and NFL game and Pro Bowl MVP, James “Shack” Harris;
  • A 2015 graduating class that earned over $2,000,000 in scholarship offers;
  • The fastest 4×2 relay team in the nation (1995);
  • A robotics team that placed 70th out of over 2,000 teams in the nation;
  • A choir that earned superior ratings during national performances, including a performance at Carnegie Hall;
  • A World Bowl Champion player with the Barcelona Dragons, Vincent Landrum, and;
  • A plethora of physicians, educators, attorneys, theologians, professional basketball and football players, and hard-working citizens who daily contribute to the health and well being of the Carroll community.
