
Mr. Johnson is a 1974 graduate of Carroll High School. He was a star football player for all of his high school years. He also played baseball at Carroll for 2 years. Mr. Johnson has served as an instructor and principal at schools in Texas and Louisiana, including several years as principal of Carroll High. Currently Mr. Johnson serves as principal of Barkdull Faulk Elementary School.
Even when Mr. Johnson was living in Texas, he contributed to the development of students in the Monroe area by participating in Project REACH, an elementary school reading and writing program located at feeder schools for Carroll. He has continued his dedication to youth development since returning to Monroe.
Mr. Johnson presently is a founding member and president of the Bulldog Booster Club. He has led this organization through incorporation, submission of an application for 501c3 status, and a variety of fundraising activities that enabled the Booster Club to provide Carroll High School with more than $30,000 in resources and financial assistance. Mr. Johnson’s dedication to Carroll is evident in all of his activities.
Mr. Johnson is married to Patricia Staten Johnson, his former classmate at Carroll. Together they have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Robert and Patricia attend Flowery Mount Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon.
