Atty. George Britton, III

Although he is not a Carroll Graduate, George W. Britton, III, has been an ardent supporter of Carroll for the past 15-20 years.  Mr. Britton was introduced to Carroll High School by former graduate, Millard Dean Lee.  Mr. Milliard Dean Lee was the voice of the Bulldogs as the P.A. announcer at all of Carroll’s home games for over 25 years.  Mr. Lee brought George on to his broadcasting team as a spotter.  Mr. Lee provided George with a pair of binoculars and a transistor radio as tools for his job.  George’s duties included, feeding Mr. Lee key players on a play, down in distance during the game, and updates on other local games of interest in progress.  For over 10 years, Millard Dean Lee and George W. Britton, III were Carroll’s Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon.

Since initially being initially introduced to Carroll by Mr. Lee, Mr. Britton has taken an active and supportive role in all aspects of Carroll activities.  George has utilized his profession as an attorney to aid in the development of the Bulldog Booster Club, Inc. As a founding member of the Bulldog Booster Club, Mr. Britton facilitated the development of the organization’s articles of incorporation and bylaws.  He has provided extensive legal services, free of charge to the organization.

George has also donated liberally to Carroll.  He has been a leader in garnering money to cover the cost of comfortable travel for the athletic teams, has personally bought athletic equipment, and has raised funds to purchase rings for championship teams.  He has regularly bought a table in support of a spring banquet that provides financial assistance to the M. H. Carroll Scholarship fund.  Despite not being a Carroll graduate or Monroe native, Mr. Britton has truly dedicated himself to the success of our community and our school.
